Actually published on 16 July, but I have time travel powers. This strip, titled coup d’état, is a prequel to the GNU Boob Wars strip.
The early years of Libreboot (2013 to 2016) were quite turbulent. I foolishly stepped down in 2017 and left a bunch of incompetent people in charge; alas, hindsight is the year 2020, the year osboot was born. Libreboot was a totally dead project, between 2017-2020. I singlehandedly revived it in 2021, and it has thrived ever since. I am the founder of the Libreboot project.
I was on complete hiatus between 2017-2020. In 2021, I deleted all work - and people - that had gone into the project during that time, and simply resumed where I left off.
I had an osboot release ready in only two weeks, basing off of the September 2016 Libreboot release; most of it was unusable, so I ended up re-writing most of the build system from scratch. From this, osbmk was born, which later became lbmk. OSBOOT was a special fork of Libreboot, that….

That article says the whole history of this period. The above strip was created as a prequel to the GNU Boob Wars strip; basically, 2021-2023 was a series of three coups that I successfully pulled off, in succession. The result each time was a fundamentally altered Libreboot project.
Sometimes you just have to YOLO. If you truly believe in something, and you want to be taken seriously, you sometimes have to fight. If you don’t, you will just end up doing what other people tell you and then you will be miserable.

Perhaps I should do another prequel at some point, covering the early years of Libreboot? Earlier than 2021, that is. And again, basing off of 10.html.
